The Kantha textiles we source began their existence as exquisite saris worn by the women of India and Bangladesh. Once their use as a garment expires the saris are then reused by laying them one on top of the other, sometimes up to 5 layers thick. They are then hand sewn together using decorative patterns with colourful thread to become repurposed.

The magnificent designs and motifs of Indian chintz fabrics have been sought after from every corner of the world since the 1600s.

For centuries from Europe and throughout Asia, these wonderful textiles have been highly sort after and traded.
